What is BotenMail?
The sophisticated software product BotenMail optimizes your addresses and allows their
postal pre-sorting using a unique similarity analysis to compare the addresses. In addition, errors in city
and street names as well as ZIP codes are detected and corrected where applicable.
The program works with the postman file of the post office. This file comprises all ZIP codes
of Switzerland, about 95'000 street names as well as about 140'000 postman districts.
With this data, the addresses are checked by batch or online, corrected where applicable and sorted correctly by
mailman district.
Sorting addresses can be applied for the following types of mailing:
- Letter mail
- Package mail
- Newspaper shipment
- Mailing
- Catalogues
After the sort process, bundle sheets for letter mailings and mail bag flags for package mailings are generated.
There are several bundle types taken into account: mailman bundles, P.O. Box bundles, village bundles
and rest bundles. With that, the requirements of the postal office are met and you can claim the
postage discounts for the pre-sorting efforts.
In addition, the program BotenMail contains the following new options:
- To sort and bundle periodicals for mailings abroad by the rules of Direct Entry Press to get postage reduction.
According to Swiss Post, Direct Entry Press is available up to now for the following countries: Germany, Netherlands,
France, Italy and Slovenia.
- Apart from pre-sorting of letter mail, the sorting of parcels has also become part of our standard software.
The program is able to pre-sort catalogues (parcels) heavier than 500 gram according to post regulations and
prepares them for pallets.
